Reporting to the Associate Vice President & Chief Procurement Officer (AVP/CPO), the Associate Director of the Procurement Center of Excellence (COE) is responsible for day-to-day supervision of operations and assigned staff that collaboratively develop and implement the infrastructure required for the Procurement organization to meet the needs of its University customers. The Associate Director and the COE team identify and lead efforts to implement a wide range of foundational initiatives that enable the entire Procurement organization to effectively and efficiently deliver on its mission for the University.
Procurement Category Manager (P5) (Information Technology and/or Auxiliary Services)
Under the general direction of the University Director of Procurement Services and/or a designated administrator, the University seeks to hire two Category Managers. The Procurement Services Technology (IT) Category Manager is responsible for the administration and oversight of procurement activities for all IT related goods and services for all University of Connecticut campuses. The Auxiliary Services Category Manager is responsible for the administration and oversight of procurement activities for commodities such as printing services, audio/visual and business services.
Contract Specialist 1 (P4)
The University of Connecticut seeks to hire a Contracting Specialist I to support the Procurement Contracting & Compliance team. Under the general direction of the University Director of Procurement Contracting & Compliance and the Senior Contract Specialist, the Contract Specialist utilizes existing policies, procedures, statutes, to plan, develop and organize all phases of assigned responsibilities for successful contracting in support of the procurement of goods and services for all University campuses, including the main campus in Storrs, the Regional Campuses, and satellite campuses.

Under the general direction of the University Director of Procurement Contracting & Compliance and/or the Senior Contract Specialist, this role will utilize existing policies, procedures, and statutes, to draft and negotiate terms and conditions for the University’s information technology and telecommunications contracts, including but not limited to contracts for IT hardware, software, maintenance/support and consulting services.

Under the direction of the Travel and Card Services Manager and/or designated supervisor, the Travel Services Support Professional (Travel Coordinator) provides superior direct customer support for travel services including bookings, travel service options and strategies to the University community. The incumbent will train and assist UConn employees with the front-end, request, and booking modules of the Concur Travel & Expense system [Concur], for booking work-related trips.
